One of our favorite tipsters let us know that the village has been installing new phones in all of its buildings for each employee, including the manager, and for Mayor Sandra Bury, who used her State of the Village Address to let everyone know that a new phone system was forthcoming. She complained at the time that she was still using former Mayor Ernie Kolb’s phone on her desk. The down payment for the system was $105,000. So, when you run over the pothole make sure to call the village on its new phone system. The village claims the system will save $150,000 or more on a yearly basis.

She was sworn in along with Thomas March and Jean Reising. It is another example of Oak Lawn voters rejecting term limits for someone that they think is doing a good job.
