Tickets are available for the Oak Lawn Park District Theatre production of “Les Misérables”. The production will run at the Oak View Center, 4625 W. 110th St., on Friday, June 5th and Friday, June 12th at 8:00pm, Saturday, June 6th and Saturday, June 13th at 8:00pm and Sunday, June 7th and Sunday, June 14th at 3:00pm.
Based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel, Les Miserables is an epic and uplifting story about the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score of Les Miserables includes the classic songs “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” “Stars,” “Bring Him Home,” “Do You Hear the People Sing?,” “One Day More,” “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables,” “Master Of The House” and many more.
The novel was first published in 1862 and is considered one of the greatest novels of the 19th century. In the English-speaking world, the novel is usually referred to by its original French title, and follows the lives and interactions of several characters, particularly the struggles of an ex-convict and his experience of redemption.
The novel and play examine the history of France, philosophy, religion and politics.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $24 for seniors (60 and older) and children (12 and under). Tickets are available at the Oak View Center or can be purchased by phone at 708-857-2200.
