Artists of all ages and abilities are welcome to showcase their artwork at the Oak Lawn Park District’s Community Art Day & Competition, sponsored by St. Xavier University, on Sunday, October 4th, from 1:00-4:00pm. This is a FREE community art gallery with an art competition for youth ages 6-18 and activities for all.
Participants are encouraged to check out the brand new Art Room at the Oak View Center, 4625 W. 110th St., and try some fun and unique art techniques from our new art classes such as Squish Art, Inki Doodle Drawing, and Drip Paint Pendulum. Participants can also aide in creating a community mural that will be displayed in the Art Room. Enter our raffles to have a chance to win prizes, including donations by Blick Art and Stampin’ Up.
St. Xavier, located at 3900 W. 103rd Street, in Chicago, offers a bachelor of science in Art. Students have a choice of obtaining the degree on four different tracks: Graphic Design, Studio Art, Art Education, and Art History. The local university also offers minors in art.
Registration is required. Please register at one of our facilities or online using CODE #216202-01. Snacks and beverages will be provided at this event.
