Stony Creek Golf Course, Restaurant & Banquets
The fee is $45 per golfer and includes 18 holes with cart, small bucket of range balls, complementary drink, buffet style lunch, and prizes. Entry forms and fee must be received at Stony Creek by Saturday, September 3.

Summer Beach Blizzard “Back to School” Event
Bring your mittens and bathing suit for an evening full of fun! Proper bathing attire is required.
From 6:00-8:30pm, participants will enjoy fun in the sun and snow at Central Park & Pool, 9400 S. Kenton Ave. Our DJ will provide the tunes while you hula hoop, play in the snow pile, and make snow sculptures. Concessions will be available.
From 7:15-8:45pm, participants can head to the Ice Arena for Open Skate, 9320 S. Kenton Ave. Then at 9:00pm/dusk, participants can return to the pool to enjoy the movie “Surfs’ Up”!
Admission is $10 for all activities. Admission to the pool is included. Participants who donate school supplies at this event will receive a Free Open Skate pass for a return visit.

Worthbrook Park Renovated With State Grant Money
Renovations included new skate park equipment, new playground equipment, sand volleyball court, new basketball court, park lighting, a picnic shelter, new baseball backstops, benches, bleachers, exercise equipment, mini spray pad and landscaping.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 6:00pm, on Monday, August 8th.
Worthbrook Park is newly renovated thanks to an Open Space Land and Acquisition Grant from the Department of Natural Resources.

Community Theatre Production of “Catch Me If You Can”
The production will run at the Oak View Center, 4625 W. 110th St., on Friday, August 5th and Friday, August 12th at 8:00pm, Saturday, August 6th and Saturday, August 13th at 8:00pm, and Sunday, August 7th and Sunday, August 14th at 3:00pm. Tickets are $23 for adults and $22 for seniors (60 and older) and children (12 and under).

Oak Lawn’s Summer StoryWalk® Book
The Oak Lawn Park District and the Oak Lawn Public Library are excited to announce the summer featured story for StoryWalk®, a nationally recognized program to encourage literacy and promote physical activity. This season’s book is “Turtle Splash Countdown At The Pond,” by Cathryn Falwell.
StoryWalk® transforms the pages of a children’s storybook into signs that will be placed sequentially along Lake Shore Park’s, 9610 E. Shore Dr., Oak Lawn, walking trail. Different children stories are featured seasonally.
Patrons are encouraged to come out to a special StoryWalk® event on Tuesday, August 9th, from 11:00am-12:30pm at Lake Shore Park to enjoy crafts, recreation games and activities, as well as learning pond life with Instructor Ms. Sue. This is a FREE event, but registration is required.
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.

Save the date for the Oak Lawn Park District’s new event, Monarch Festival, on Saturday, September 17th, from, 2:00-5:00pm, at the Oak View Center, 4625 W. 110th St.
This indoor and outdoor festival will bring much needed awareness to the issues that this magnificent creature faces today. Participants will learn how to assist in the preservation of the Monarch butterfly species.
Activities will include butterfly arts and crafts for kids, an interactive puppet theatre, face painting, music, and much more! There will also be live butterfly tagging, a bug zoo, caterpillar aquarium, and a movie.

Famazing Race Family Fun Challenge
Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 24, from 10:00am-1:00pm, to gather your family for some friendly competition at Centennial Park (9401 S. Oak Park Avenue). Amy Enderle and Peyton Enderle of Oak Lawn (pictured to the left) were the 1st place winners of the Oak Lawn Park District’s 2nd Annual Famazing Race event in 2015.
Teams consisting of at least one adult and child (ages 5 & up) will compete in a series of exciting challenges (physical and mental) and race to the finish to win some great prizes! Dress in a theme to be entered to win the costume contest.
The registration fee is $10 per team member. Race fee includes a t-shirt and picnic lunch. Check-in is from 9:30-10:00am. Race begins promptly at 10:00am. Lunch and awards will begins around noon.

Oak Lawn Park District The Odd Couple Trip
Join the Oak Lawn Park District as we head to Munster, Indiana to enjoy a fun production of The Odd Couple on Wednesday, August 10th, from 11:30am-4:30pm. This beloved American comedy by Neil Simon reveals the adventures of two mismatched roommates, Felix Ungar, a neurotic worrywart news writer, and Oscar Madison, a sloppy sports journalist. The men attempt to adapt to each other’s habits, all the while trying to rekindle their social lives with side-splitting results! Lunch: Caesar Salad, Chicken Parmesan or Veal Parmesan, Linguini Marinara, and Italian Blend Vegetables. Dessert will be Rainbow Sherbet.
