With less than 6 months to go until Oak Lawn’s local election, readers more frequently ask us who will be running for office. So we’re putting out this Help Wanted ad.
We’ve got a deal for anyone considering throwing their hat in the ring. Send us your resume, your talking points, the issues you feel are most important, and we’ll get your campaign started by introducing you to our readers. If you are one of the incumbents, we’ll re-introduce you if you are running again.
The Village of Oak Lawn has 5 positions up for election in April. The position of Mayor, Clerk, and Trustees for Districts 2, 4, and 6 are on the slate. Each position holds a 4-year term.
So far, the only word we’ve heard is that Mayor Sandra Bury has been circulating petitions for her re-election as Mayor. Clerk Jane Quinlan has announced her intention to run for re-election as well.
Election Day is April 4, 2017. That’s just 24 weeks away.
Check the map below if you’re not sure which District you live in.
