Last week, two dogs allegedly belonging to Glenn Chovanec, who resides at 5408 W. 88th Street in Oak Lawn, wandered into the yard of a neighbor.
Before Chovanec was able to retrieve the dogs, the dogs jumped into a pool according to a witness who asked that his name not be used. The neighbor with the yard that the dogs entered then reportedly walked over to Chovanec’s house to “talk to him about the loose dogs”.
The neighbor told police officers that Chovanec became “hostile” and told the homeowner to “Get the F… off my porch.” The homeowner also told the police officers that Chovanec then punched the homeowner in the face.
The homeowner went back to his own house and called 9-1-1. An ambulance came as well as the police officer who responded. According to the police, the homeowner had a bruise on his right eye but he refused transportation to the hospital.
The police interviewed Chovanec who admitted that he told the neighbor to “Get the F… off my porch”. However, Chovanec denied punching the neighbor and allegedly added, “If I had punched him, I would have knocked his head off.”
The neighbor, whose name and address was redacted from the report, insisted on pressing charges and Chovanec was charged with one count of battery. The fun continues to a court room in Bridgeview for the two neighbors on June 20th at 1:30 p.m. where Chovanec will have a chance to defend himself and the unknown neighbor will be the star witness for the prosecution.
