Keep This Up And You’ll Be Living In A Van Down By The River
A police officer surprised a couple parked in a van at Memorial Park. The door was ajar and the officer reported seeing a man and a woman with their respective pants “down”. As the officer approached, he asked the couple to exit the vehicle. The man, responded, “we have no clothes on”. The man provided an Arkansas address while the woman is one of Oak Lawn’s proud residents. The couple allegedly admitted to engaging in a sexual act and were given a village ordinance citation charged with “public indecency”. If you want to know who the couple is you will have to go to the hearing at 6 p.m. on July 18th at the Village Hall. They will probably be the only one facing such charges.
Sales Tax Budget Estimate Isn’t Cutting It For Oak Lawn
Despite an aggressive advertising campaign on the radio for Oak Lawn car dealers, a full page ad every month by one dealer in the village owned newspaper, the Stony Creek Promenade shopping center, the sales tax for the first six months in Oak Lawn is “lagging”. Every year, the administration budgets a certain amount in taxes and through half the year, Oak Lawn is seeing a drop in sales tax receipts by over $300,000. The running total is now around $1.3 million.

The school posted a Facebook message stating, “To mark the closing of our school, we have buried a time capsule containing different items representing this final year. Each student and staff member signed a school banner and we included a yearbook, an all school picture, church bulletins and programs from different events. A big thank you to members of our last graduating class who helped bury the time capsule, along with Fr. Stan. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Widely for trying to make our capsule as water resistant as possible.” This was the last year of the school in a village known for identifying its parishes with their respective districts.
