Shop and Play Weekend Starts with Oak Lawn Auto Days
Ramblin’ Ray Stevens, one half of the Big John and Ramblin’ Ray WLS 890 AM morning show appeared in Oak Lawn yesterday during the 2017 Oak Lawn Auto Days. The event, which started last year, features the various auto dealers that joined together to advertise on WLS to increase business. Not all the car dealers are part of the ad but you were able to see a good assortment with Oak Lawn Toyota, Oak Lawn Happy Hyundai, Kelly Kean Nissan and Mancari Jeep Dodge represented at the event, which was held at the Oak Lawn Library property, 5210 W. 95th Street. Ramblin’ Ray was on hand from 4 to 6 p.m. but there was also food, prizes (including White Sox tickets) and drinks available. The event ran from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the parking lot.

Remember, there is no admission price for any of the outdoor activities and most of them are free so yell go Bears and then head out the door.
Attention Oak Lawn Residents: Moraine Valley seeks Alumni Hall of Fame nominations
Moraine Valley Community College is accepting nominations for its 2018 Alumni Hall of Fame, created to recognize and honor alumni who have excelled in their professional fields, made an impact through volunteerism in their community or have made service contributions to the college.
Nominees must have earned a minimum of 30 credit hours at Moraine Valley and are eligible for consideration 10 years from the date of their last registered class. While Alumni cannot nominate themselves there should be enough industrious individuals in Oak Lawn to nominate someone they know. Completed nomination forms must be received by midnight on Sept. 30.
“We’re excited to begin the process for the next group of inductees into the Hall of Fame,” said Kristy McGreal, Foundation executive director. “We hear about so many of our alumni who are out in the world doing wonderful work, professionally and personally. The Hall of Fame showcases the best of the best from Moraine Valley, and I welcome the opportunity to recognize them.”
Complete information and the nomination form are available at morainevalley.edu/hofnomination.
