First, the Oak Lawn Park District Frank Sinatra Tribute Trip kicks of this Wednesday, October 4th, to see Chicago’s number one Frank Sinatra impersonator, Nick Ponteralli.
Sit back and enjoy the sounds and stories of “Old Blue Eyes” at the Jacob Henry Mansion in Joliet, IL. Lunch will be provided; pot roast, mashed potatoes with gravy and steam vegetables. Participants will be picked up at 9:15am and dropped off at 4:30pm at the Oak View Center, 4625 W. 110th Street. Fee for residents is $65 and $75 for non-residents.
Less than one week later, the Oak Lawn Park District Starved Rock Trip takes place on Tuesday, October 10th. The tour includes a relaxing trolley ride, a hot lunch in the dining room and a guided hike to Council Overhang and Ottawa Canyon. The hike on this tour is less than a mile and takes 45 minutes.
Participants will be picked up at 9:15am and dropped off at 5:00pm at the Oak View Center, 4625 W. 110th Street. Fee for residents is $50 and $60 for non-residents.
While the first two events may not excite younger residents, the Oak Lawn Park District Annual Spookview Event is a hit with kids of all ages. You can get in the Halloween spirit at the Oak Lawn Park District’s Annual Spookview event at the Oak View Center, 4625 W. 110th St., on Saturday, October 21st, from 1:00-5:00pm. The Park District advertises this event as “an afternoon perfect for the whole family”.
Activities include a costume parade, ghoulish games, eerie crafts, magic, inflatables, and a performance by Oak Lawn’s “IndepenDANCE” team. All inclusive wristbands are $10 for the first child and $5 per additional child.
