A woman was charged with battery after a domestic incident fit for the television show “Cheaters” played out with a confrontation and fisticuffs.
The victim, a woman, was at the Oak Lawn Pavillion parking lot on Oak Park Avenue to meet her boyfriend, who happens to be married to another woman.
The wife of the boyfriend, now identified as Rheem Ahmad, allegedly approached a vehicle in the parking lot in which Ahmad’s husband and the victim were sitting in for about five minutes. According to the victim, Ahmad opened the passenger side door and allegedly began “slapping” her cheating husband.
Ahmad allegedly continued by reaching over and pulling the victim’s hair and then began to allegedly hit her with her closed fists. Ahmad’s husband was able to push her out of the vehicle but Ahmad then went to the driver’s side of the vehicle to allegedly continue the attack on the victim.
The victim claims that Ahmad pulled her from the car and began hitting her in the face with her fist. The wayward husband interceded and pulled the two women apart. The victim called 911 and the police were dispatched to the scene.
Ahmad left the scene but a description of the vehicle, including the license plate number, allowed the police to stop her nearby. She allegedly told the police officer that she had been “aware” of the fact that her husband was cheating on her and she followed him with the intent of catching him with the other woman. Ahmad said that when she approached the car the victim exited the vehicle and the two began arguing. She also claimed that it was the victim who threw the first punch.
The police were not able to get a statement from the husband who may be the only one that can verify the story of either woman. Ahmad was charged with battery and has a January 25th court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse. Rheem Ahmad is a 23 year old white female and provided an Alsip address to the police. The victim is a 30 year old female.
