The police were called to the New China Express at 9231 S. Cicero by the restaurant to report a battery/robbery in progress but in the end the alleged offender walked away without charges.
The victim entered the restaurant to get some Chinese food when he said two men banged on the outside window and asked him if he could spare any money for them.
When the victim said he didn’t have any money to spare, the two men followed him into the store and tackled him to the ground in an attempt to pry the money from his hand. The manager called the police and the two men fled.
When the police arrived, the victim provided descriptions of the two men and an officer found one of the subjects, a 27 year old white male with a Worth address, near Columbus Avenue and Cicero Avenue. The subject who was found was the man that tackled the victim according to the police.
However, after speaking at length with the police, the victim decided he didn’t wish to pursue charges and didn’t want the man arrested. The police did not find the other individual and the case was closed since the victim was not willing to pursue charges.
The victim didn’t sustain any injuries that required medical attention.
