While Oak Lawn’s administration cracks down on motels in the village limits, couples are apparently taking their relationships to parks and parking garages.
Within a week, a second couple was hit with “public indecency” charges for their decision to climb into the backseat of the car in a public place in Oak Lawn. This time, the couple was nabbed on March 14th shortly after 7 p.m. after parking in the corner of the Metra Parking Tower on the fifth floor.
The Oak Lawn police were patrolling the parking tower when they noticed a Kia Spectra parked in the Southwest corner of the garage.
A police officer approached the car and claimed that a man and a woman were in the backseat with their respective pants pulled down. The couple was allegedly caught in the act as the officer tapped on the window.
The man, Dominic Soria, and woman Noel Perez-White, were asked to pull their pants up and step out of the vehicle, in that order. Soria allegedly told the officer that they had both just left the gym and were “in the mood”. The officer questioned whether the parking garage was an appropriate place for sexual encounters. Soria allegedly told the officer that they chose the parking tower because it was close.
Soria is a 44 year old Hispanic male with a Blue Island address. Noel Perez White is a 31 year old Hispanic female with a Chicago address. Both individuals were issued ordinance violation citations and must appear before the village’s adjudication officer.
Both Soria and White were also issued a “criminal trespass warning” preventing them from returning to the Metra Parking Tower.
As reported last wee by the Oak Lawn Leaf, the decision to engage in such encounters outside of a home or motel room is not a one in a million instance in Oak Lawn. Last week, a Chicago couple failed to listen to the conventional wisdom of “get a room” when they decided to engage in sexual activity while on the way to a movie recently.
The couple, identified as Ishmael Hunter and Jowharah Muwakil, were parked in a red Pontiac Grand Prix in the rear of the parking lot at Columbus Manor Park as the police entered the parking lot.
The police officer claimed that he approached the vehicle and saw both individuals in the back seat. According to the officer, Hunter was “pulling his pants up” and Muwakil was “completely nude”. The officer asked Muwakil to put her clothes on and Hunter stepped out of the vehicle.
Hunter allegedly told the officer that he and Muwakil were going to the movies and stopped at the park to “have sex”. They also were issued citations for public indecency.
The officer also advised the two to not have sex in the park and sent them on their unhappy way.
