Village Dumps Vehicle Stickers; Adds R&M Fee
The Village of Oak Lawn has rescinded the vehicle sticker saving itself the cost of printing the stickers, distributing the stickers and collecting the unpaid fees for the scofflaws who ignore the date for vehicle stickers. While that fee is rescinded, the village has added a street repair and maintenance fee based on the amount of water consumed by each customer. While the connection between streets and and water usage is as dubious as politicians and honesty, the decision has been made. The village has also compiled its mathematical “expertise” to convince you that you will pay less. You can do your own math based on your usage and see if these calculations are as faulty as those that claim a part-time Trustee could make a million dollars on a pension. You may especially like the last column in which homes have four cars.

Reality Television Style: Treating Your Guest Like Family?
A young woman said that she became the victim of a battery after being invited over to a young man’s place of residence. The woman claimed that the Oak Lawn man asked her to come over and look at some tattoos and perhaps decide if she wanted to get a tattoo. The woman said that they were “hanging out” when the young man demanded she leave. She couldn’t leave, according to her, because her ride had left. The argument escalated onto the driveway where the man, identified as 23 year old Jake Ibrahim, allegedly punched the woman in the face. She pressed charges and Ibrahim was charged with battery. He provided an Oak Lawn address. Ibrahim was identified as a white male.
