A man allegedly urinated at the Citgo gas station at 6801 W. 87th Street in Oak Lawn on Monday April 2nd at about 4 p.m.
Usually, that isn’t news since residents and non-residents alike have been using gas stations to fill up their tanks and empty their bladders. Gas stations used to have commercials that noted their clean restrooms.
The problem in this case was the man allegedly didn’t use the restroom. According to the owner of the station, he saw the man relieving himself on the east side of the building. The owner walked over to the man and asked him what he was doing. The man allegedly then directed his stream of urine toward the owner and began yelling at him.
The police were called and the dispatcher let the officer know that the man was last seen walking east bound on 87th Street.
The officer found the man not far from the Citgo and stopped him. The man denied that he relieved himself on the side of the building and insisted that he was looking for his glasses.
The owner didn’t want to see the man arrested but did want a village ordinance citation issued. The police issued a ticket to Michael Bennett and told him his hearing date is May 1st at 6p.m. at the Oak Lawn Village Hall. His response, according to the police, was “F… you, I’m not going to pay that sh..”.
Bennett is a 56 year old white male and provided a Chicago Ridge address to the police officer.
