Com Ed Bills To Increase for Oak Lawn Residents
Villages like Oak Lawn that stopped their electricity aggregation program will find out soon that good things do not come to those that wait. Oak Lawn, like several other greedy towns, pulled the plug on aggregation because savings would have been only five percent. Now, consumers are going to be hit with not one, but two, increases in supply charges in the next several months. Starting in June, the price for electricity supply will be 0.0731 cents per kilowatt hour. In October, the price will hit 0.0788 according to prices approved by the Illinois Commerce Commission. Some municipalities may start scurrying around to find a supplier with the prices increasing now and probably for the foreseeable future.
Aggregation programs were supposed to stop the pain of Com Ed increases but villages who cancelled their aggregation program left their residents out in the cold without a contract. Now, it will probably cost more as Com Ed increases their rate. First water bills, now electricity!

Is Deetjen on Thin Ice?
Rumors have Village Manager Larry Deetjen on “thin ice” with the Mayor and Board of Trustees. The controversial Deetjen may have overstayed his welcome in the eyes of many but he’s been a loyal soldier for the majority on the board. Nonetheless, the Oak Lawn Leaf has been told that some officials would like to ship Deetjen back to Florida and our working to install a shocking replacement. The replacement being discussed is an old foe who once was the target of a homemade investigation that included surveillance and being “wired up”.
No word yet on who would vote “yes” and who would vote “no” but Deetjen would not be missed by the firefighters.
