Two Oak Lawn women live in a condo association with a man that could be described as crude, rude and obnoxious based on their complaint to the Oak Lawn police.
The two women didn’t know what to do after listening to their fellow association member use vile language and conduct himself in a “harassing manner” according to the ladies.
The women, who serve as President and Treasurer of one of the many condo associations in Oak Lawn told police that signs have been posted in the buildings and that 59 year old man calls them vulgar names when their backs are turned.
The association had voted to raise their assessments in 2014. Apparently that decision did not sit well with someone in the association, who the two women believe is the man harassing them since that time. The president of the association said that shortly after the association members voted for the increase, a label was put above her mailbox. Written on the label were the words “F…..g C…”.
The woman said that she has been nice to the man and whenever she says “hi” the man returns the pleasantry with comments like “f…..g Fat A..” or “F…..g C…”. after she turns her back. The treasurer of the association, similarly complained that she has been called “an old Fat A..”.
The president of the association said that just this past March, someone rang her intercom buzzer and she answered with a normal and pleasant “hello”. The response was “You F…..g C…”. When she asked who it was, the man repeated the phrase. She didn’t look outside to see who it was but she believes it was the same man.
In May, the association president said she was in the rear of the building talking to the treasurer when they both heard someone in the man’s unit say “Are you two having a c… meeting”.
In June, the man said that the hot water in the buildings went out, so the association president called a repairman. The president posted a sign in the hallways letting everyone know about the hot water. Later that day, the intercom buzzer rang again and when she answered, a man said “There’s no f…..g hot water, C…”. When she asked who it was the man repeated the vile phrase.
The police suggested that the two women could possibly obtain an order of protection. The police informed the women of the process. The 59 year old Oak Lawn man is not being identified because he was not charged with any crime.
