Many times social media commenters and some village officials have claimed that the Oak Lawn police are fighting crime caused by outsiders from Chicago and their time is being spent solely on violations by non-residents. That’s not necessarily true because Oak Lawn has had “contact” with both non-residents and residents in recent weeks.
