A two time convicted felon on parole was arrested after allegedly terrorizing an ex-girlfriend in Oak Lawn at about 1 a.m. on August 15th.
The woman told the police that Justin Carrick, of Oak Lawn, had come to her home a day earlier, banged on the door, yelled at her and attempted to gain entry into the residence without success despite the fact that she had an order of protection. The woman told him to leave but he returned an hour late banged on the door and tried to kick the back door. Once again she told him through the close door to leave. Unfortunately, he is charged with coming back shortly before 1 a.m.
The woman ran to a neighbor’s home to call 9-1-1 but she said Carrick allegedly pursued her in that direction. The woman claimed that Carrick threatened to hit and choke her if he caught her that night.
When the police arrived Carrick, who has two felony convictions and is on parole, told the police that the woman had called him and asked him to come over to her home. Carrick was convicted of theft in 2015 and was on parole for a 2016 conviction for aggravated battery of a police officer. He was sentenced to one year in the theft case and served his sentence. In the battery case, he was sentenced to three years in the state prison system and entered custody on June 3, 2016. He was on parole since July 27, 2018 and allegedly told the police that he knew that any contact with the victim would result in a parole violation.
Carrick is currently in Cook County Jail and the Illinois Department of Corrections will likely be charging him with a parole violation. Carrick is a 35 year old white male with an Oak Lawn address.
