Oak Lawn Man Takes Cabbie for a ‘Free’ Ride
Gabriel Segura, of Oak Lawn, was charged with theft of service and one count of obstructing an officer after allegedly calling a cab, taking a ride in the cab back to Oak Lawn and then allegedly refusing to pay the cab driver, who called the police. The cab driver alleged that when he dropped Segura off at home, the man refused to pay the $44.75 for the ride. The cab driver called the police and when the police arrived, Segura was in his front yard. According to the police officer, Segura refused to provide his name to the officer a couple of times and was told that he could be arrested for obstructing identification. He allegedly refused the request and was charged. The cab driver signed the complaint for theft of services. Segura is a 38 year old Oak Lawn resident.
Oak Lawn Resident adds Battery charge and beer shower to Events at St. Gerald’s Carnival
Oak Lawn police were called to the St. Gerald’s Carnival at about 8:30 p.m. on August 19 for a battery complaint. According to the complaining witness, Herman King, a 41 year old Oak Lawn resident, threw a plastic beer cup at the victim and allegedly punched the victim. Both the victim and King began to push and punch each other before it was broken up by security and other patrons. King denied that he instigated the confrontation but the police issued him a village ordinance violation.
Plates Stolen Off Car In Driveway
An Oak Lawn resident was victimized in the 9500 block of Tripp on August 16th. The man parked the car, with auto dealer plates, in his driveway. The front and rear plates were removed from the car by an unknown assailant.
Oak Lawn Woman Suspects Oak Lawn Man of Theft
An Oak Lawn woman told the police that someone burglarized her car and stole a pack of Marlboro cigarettes and a lighter. The car was parked in a shared garage in a condo complex. The woman suspects a man, who lives in another condo but she told the police she didn’t want to file charges.
