A woman working in the Jewel Food Store at 94th and Pulaski, explaining banking options to customers, claimed that a man entered the store and hit her in the face before running out of the store.
The victim told the police that she didn’t know the man and didn’t recognize him as being in the store before. He allegedly didn’t say anything to her before striking her in the jaw.
Witnesses claim the man ran toward Walgreen’s on just east of Pulaski on 95th Street. A video of the incident alerted the police to the fact that they were looking for a black male wearing a blue plaid shirt and dark pants.
A person matching the description was spotted in the 9400 block of Harding in Evergreen Park. He had been seen allegedly running through backyards in that area and the Evergreen Park Police were investigating that claim.
Oak Lawn and Evergreen Police Departments jointly set up a perimeter and converged on the area in an attempt to capture the man. During the course of the search, an Evergreen Park officer found freshly broken glass next to a garage of one of the homes. Inside the garage, the police found Adeyomi Famewo.
According to the police, Famewo was positively identified by the victim. Fawmewo, a 26 year old resident of Evergreen Park, was charged with battery, criminal damage to property and criminal trespass to real property. He has a November 1st court date.
