Oak Lawn Fireman Asks for Help for Rags of Honor 1
Rags of Honor 1, along with Get Roped™ and The Chicago Blackhawks are raising money for veterans in participation with JUMP FOR VETS on November 18th 2018.
100% of the proceeds will go directly to Rags of Honor 1, a non-profit (501c3) organization that provides employment and services to homeless veterans in the Chicago area. Show support for our veterans. The idea is to help prevent veteran homelessness, PTSD and suicide. Since the vets had our backs as a country, the idea is to JUMP to keep the shirt on theirs.
Don Mundo, an Oak Lawn firefighter for many years, posted the message on Facebook asking everyone to spread the word and to give a contribution if possible. Mundo explained why he is helping:
“WHY I AM DOING THIS…
This is why:
22 in 24hrs- we lose 22 vets everyday to suicide.
100,000 Vets are homeless one night each year
800 homeless vets in Chicago alone.
I’m inspired by the work of Rags of Honor 1 and wanted to honor and support vets by raising money as part of my participation in Jump For Vets.
Help me honor our Vets use the ‘Give Now’ button.
The more people that know about Rags of Honor 1, the greater their impact, so please spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.
Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!” If you would like to contribute, click here.
