A disturbance between two females in the parking lot of HOBO at 8716 S. Cicero Avenue on November 18th, caught the attention of the police and resulted in a criminal damage to property charge for one of the women.
The victim said she was sitting in her 2018 Chevy Traverse in the parking lot talking to her mother on her cell phone. She noticed a second woman, identified as Maria Waliszewski, in a Honda parked next to the Traverse.
Waliszewski was apparently trying to get a young child out of the back seat of the Honda when the victim claimed that Waliszewski yelled, “This F…… lady.”
The Traverse owner then said she heard a grinding noise on her vehicle so she jumped out of her car and claimed to see Waliszewski “keying” the Traverse.
The Traverse owner grabbed the key out of Waliszewski’s hand and called the police demanding that Waliszewski be arrested.
When the police arrived, they interviewed both parties. Waliszewski said, “I didn’t do anything”. The officer looked at the Traverse and reported that there was a scratch into the paint that started at the back and went across the rear passenger side of the Traverse.
The owner of the Traverse signed a complaint and Waliszewski was arrested. While in custody she was asked basic questions such as her name, phone number and address. Her answer to each question, according to the police was “I want a lawyer”.
She probably will have a lawyer on January 10th when she will appear at the Bridgeview Court House to defend the criminal damage to property charge. Waliszewski is a 51 year old Hispanic woman with a Chicago address.
