The Oak Lawn police were called to the area of 52nd Avenue and 99th Street by an Orland Park woman who was driving along when she unknowingly became a victim according to the charge.
The woman was headed southbound on 52nd Avenue on February 25th shortly after 12:30 p.m. The woman said she saw a Mitsubishi swerve around her and park in the parkway in front of a house.
The Orland woman told police officers that the man in the Mitsubishi exited the car and began having what she termed as a “domestic altercation” with an Oak Lawn woman who was walking northbound on the sidewalk.
The Orland woman claimed she was worried for the Oak Lawn woman and pulled her car over, rolled down the window and asked if the two were okay.
The man, Ruben Gonzalez, was quick to answer according to the Orland woman. Gonzalez allegedly responded “Mind your own F…ing business. This is my ex-girlfriend”.
As reassuring as that answer may seem to some, the Orland woman was not satisfied and decided to get out of her own car. The Orland woman offered the Oak Lawn woman a ride in her car. The Orland woman told the police that she told the Oak Lawn woman that she would take her anywhere she wanted to go for her own safety.
Gonzalez allegedly did not like the Orland woman making this offer to his ex-girlfriend and let the Orland woman know. According to the Orland woman, Gonzalez got into the Orland woman’s face and said “F-word you b…., why don’t you hit me! Hit me!”
The Orland woman claimed that she was actually afraid that Gonzalez was going to hit her so she scurried back to her car and called the police.
Gonzalez, a 20 year old Hispanic male with a Hometown address, was taken into custody for assault. Since his car was parked in the parkway, the police ordered it towed.
