The Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn is always looking for more volunteers to take on both long–term and short-term duties with a variety of benefits. Volunteer positions include exhibit facilitation, special events and facility maintenance. Students may also be eligible for service hours. Any student interested in service hours should contact the Children’s Museum.
The museum currently has openings for volunteers in the following areas:
Educational Programs (science, art, math, etc.)
Volunteer orientations are done twice monthly at 4:30 PM on the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month. All volunteers (including students looking to volunteer for service hours) are required to attend an orientation session prior to volunteering at the museum. All volunteers 18 years old or older need to complete a criminal background check before volunteering in the museum. The museum does not take court appointed volunteers. The museum accepts students as floor volunteers who are 13-years-old or older.
If you are under the age of 13, you can still volunteer. The Children’s Museum also has college internships available.
