H.L Richards Running Back is a Hawkeye
Leshon Williams didn’t waste any time accepting an offer from the Iowa Hawkeyes to join the Big Ten as its second running back commit. Williams rushed for 2,115 yards and scored 24 touchdowns this past season as a junior. Williams reportedly chose Iowa over 18 other schools, including Kansas State and Cincinnati. Williams is a three star recruit.
Local Man Joins 7 Others in Ordination
Ryan McMillin was educated at St. Linus and then H.L. Richards High School before heading off to Georgetown University. He celebrated his first mass as an ordained Priest in the Catholic Church at noon on Sunday at St. Linus. He joined seven other men in being ordained recently in the Chicago Archdiocese. McMillin, 30, is being assigned to St. James in Arlington Heights.
McMillin earned a bachelor’s degree in math and economics and a master’s degree in math and statistics from Georgetown University.
Representative Burke and Senator Cunningham Offer Recycling Event
State Representative Kelly Burke and Bill Cunningham are offering a Shred and Electronics Recycling Day on Saturday June 15th. The General Assembly is scheduled to adjourn on May 31st after discussing and perhaps voting on issues like a graduated income tax, the commercialization of marijuana and sports betting. The event is free.
